Alabama star running back Najee Harris first did it in the SEC Championship game against Florida, and during Friday’s Rose Bowl, Harris did it again, this time against Notre Dame cornerback Nick McCloud.
In the first quarter at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the 230-pound Harris hurdled over McCloud on his way to a 53-yard gain before being pushed out of bounds by Notre Dame cornerback Clarence Lewis.
Alabama scored on the next play, a 12-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Mac Jones to tight end Jahleel Billingsley. It put Alabama up 14-0 with 4:19 left in the first quarter.
Harris came in fifth in this year’s voting for the Heisman Trophy.
